As soon as I entered my room in Hofsas House, I stepped out into the balcony even before switching the lights on. A beautiful night, solemn silence and thousands of sparkling stars above greeted me. It was a string of joyful moments that filled life with aliveness; without rush and without engines. I loved how my weekend trip to the beautiful small city of Carmel on the Pacific coast of California had begun.

Vacation sometimes look like this; a book, a glass of wine and me. One needs to stay there to experience. Book your stay at Hofsas House.
I loved flipping the pages of a book I found inside one of the drawers in our room. I adored all the pages inside. Art in any form that gives us joy make us rethink the principle of redundancy an affliction of modern life.

My happy and hearty morning in Hofsas House, in Carmel-By-The-Sea
No matter how late I sleep, I wake up early. I am a morning person; nothing refreshes me like the early hours of the morning. During my weekend in Carmel, I woke up early as usual and loved how the white curtain added an orange glow to the morning light. I wrapped myself with a cozy blanket, made a cup of coffee and stepped out into the balcony. Ahh, the fresh morning air, eye-soothing greenery, and the ocean emerged afar under the golden shimmer of the rising sun. A white bird greeted me “good morning”. I savored all the saintly scenes.

After a while, I took a pen and my diary and scribbled my thoughts.
My happy and hearty breakfast moments in Hofsas House, Carmel
I loved the cozy and beautiful breakfast hall in Hofsas house. My daughter enjoyed her cupcakes and Siddhartha loved the utterly butterly delicious croissants. Not only the fresh food but the warmth of the people touched me too. I met Carrie, the owner and General Manager of Hofsas House and we shared some happy and hearty moments together. She helped me figure out the places to visit in Carmel. When I asked her what she loves about Carmel, she said she loves how she can walk around every corner of the town without a car. Indeed that’s the charm about charismatic Carmel. It is walkable!

Hofsas House and its surroundings
While coming back to our room, we all loved the freshness induced by the flowers all around; purple, red, pink flowers, and yellow lemons filled our sight. How enjoyable! We and especially my daughter loved seeing how bees were savoring honey from flowers; a rare sight for city dwellers!

My moments in charismatic Carmel
Silent and peaceful nights, shining days, and the vibrant culture of this European-style city in California make a perfect weekend gateway. One can come here for a leisurely stroll on the streets while admiring the creations in the art galleries, shops, beautiful houses, and cafes and then relax on the Carmel beach. If you want to spend some time away from the crowd, then Carmel Mission is a wonderful place to visit and know about the early history of California. If it sounds too tempting then just pack your bag and book Hofsas House in Carmel!

charismatic Carmel and its surroundings
Charming and charismatic Carmel and its surroundings has much more to offer. I loved visiting the breathtaking Monterey Bay Aquarium, one of the must-see things in Monterey, walking down Cannery Row, watching the setting sun from Asilomar State Beach, driving through the 17-mile drive, spending time with the Lone Cypress tree, and enjoying the Pebble Beach golf course. I will write a detailed post about all these beautiful places soon!
My recommendation on places to eat
When I am on vacation, I break daily routines. Sometimes I grab a sandwich for lunch or take brunch or a very late dinner. Sounds similar? Sounds scary? Don’t worry! It is OK to break the rules while on vacation. In Carmel, if you want to grab a quick sandwich, I highly recommend 5th Avenue Deli. They have plenty of options at affordable prices, and their food is delicious. Try out the tamales and chicken samosas!

If you want to enjoy lunch or dinner in a restaurant overlooking the ocean, then the Beach House in Pacific Grove is a beautiful option. I loved watching the setting sun and the waves roll by while savoring a sumptuous and delicious dinner of lamb shanks and beef stroganoff!

I often feel life is like a painter’s palette. Sunsets are my orange and sunrises are my yellow; forests are my green and brown; sky and oceans add blue to my palette; clouds give gray and nights are my black; my experiences fill up the place for white because it combines all the colors. My visit to Hofsas House in Carmel added a bit of every color to my life’s palette. Thank you!
