On an afternoon in midsummer; two souls, in love, reached a crossroad.
A crossroad in Gletsch, Switzerland
And at that point of time, they didn’t choose any route, but that very intersection, which was surrounded by cocoon quiet mountains,
and a turquoise-blue stream.
Sweet sounds echoed from the rivulet, reminiscent of small silver bells singing in unison. It reminds me of the rhyme,
“Row, row, row your boat; Gently down the stream; Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily; Life is but a dream.”
Gletsch in Switzerland
Needless to say that I was one among the two souls. Another one was Siddhartha. We were celebrating our 5th marriage anniversary and we ended up in a crossroad from which we didn’t want to go anywhere. We just took a few steps and met a beautiful green hamlet named Gletsch.
Travel tip: If you plan to visit and stay in Interlaken during summer then don’t miss visiting Gletsch. You can take a train from Interlaken Ost to Meiringen and then a bus to reach Gletsch. The scenic bus route left me speechless.
A Coffee cup and a story
While exploring the romantic place, we found a small, cozy coffee shop. But we choose the table outside the shop overlooking the mountains. After waiting for a few minutes, we received a cup of steaming hot coffee – black as night and sweet as sin.
I was lost amidst the nature, coffee, solitude, soul mate and the awe-inspiring majesty of the mountains. It was a chance to empty my mind and I did.
I set myself free. I was not eager to choose where to go from that crossroad. I didn’t have the burden of choice. I was content. I was bonded to that moment, to that place, to that crossroad then and forever.
Beautiful vistas all around
With our every step we were stunned by the vistas all around. It was like a musical sonata. We were enjoying each moment.
Far and wide we saw endless miles of greens and mountains. The interesting part is, the beautiful landscape stimulates a mind yet stillness and peace prevails.
We were not seeking anything. Our mind was empty (a rare phenomenon in today’s world). We bid adieu to the crossroad, the cozy coffee shop and the beautiful stream. We boarded a bus from the bus stop in front of the famous hotel Glacier Du Rhone.
So that was the coffee cup and my story. A story of a crossroad which stimulates one to remain content without making a choice. The unique one; The rare one; Perhaps a dreamy one!!!A story of a crossroad which stimulates one to remain content without making a choice.
