Best Views of San Francisco from an E-tuk – See it and feel it!

San Francisco – the hilly city in northern California which is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay has a unique charm. If you ever visit San Francisco, don’t just see its best views but also feel the vibes that this city has to offer. Let the sweet breeze intoxicate you, let the sounds of sea waves relax you, let the aroma from the restaurants around the Fisherman’s Wharf greet you and let the views ingrain some indelible moments in your mind. Recently, I savored and saw the best views of San Francisco riding an E-tuk from Dylan’s Tours. I managed to pop inside all the postcard-perfect and famous frames in San Francisco in one day.

Why I took an E-tuk tour in San Francisco

Seeing a city from inside the car window while listening to your favorite music is relaxing but it’s not my way of knowing a place. I always like to feel the pulses and flow with the spirit of a place. Real conversations with locals, feeling and framing the reality of a place invigorate the traveler in me. Dylan’s E-tuk tour gave me exactly what I wanted. I explored the city without rush, felt the city air that was redolent with the smell of eucalyptus trees at some places, enjoyed our lovely conversations with Aaron – our guide and discovered that San Francisco is more than the physical headquarters of tech comapnies like Twitter, Airbnb, Uber and Salesforce to name a few.

Highlights of our e-tuk tour

Famous Spots

Whenever I think of a city, I feel, no matter where in the world they are located, they have some common traits at their core; speed, rush, crowd, traffic lights, crossings and perhaps a dream in everyone’s heart for a better job and convenient life. Apart from these common traits when I try to find out the uniqueness of a city then invariably I stumble upon the famous places or should I say the differentiators like the Berlin wall in Berlin, London Eye in London, Football club Barcelona in Barcelona, Real Madrid Club in Madrid, Louvre in Paris or the famous shopping arcade in Milan. In San Francisco too, our E-tuk took us to three famous places which are synonymous with San Francisco; Golden Gate Bridge, Palace of Fine Arts and the seven painted ladies.

Pacific Heights and Billionaires Row

A slice of San Francisco where the rich have always lived and now the super-rich live. Tech moguls like Larry Ellison, David Sacks to name a few are the residents here. Pretty houses, the tree-lined pedestrian friendly road which also offers panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco Bay, the Palace of Fine Arts, Alcatraz, and the Presidio.

After seeing the houses, the thought which came to my mind is that this neighborhood is a paradise for an architect

Mission Dolores – the oldest building in San Francisco

Glad to see this less touristy spot with Dylan’s E-tuk tour. Our tour guide Aaron was more than excited to show us this less requested but an important historical landmark of San Francisco.

The Women’s Building is home to one of San Francisco’s largest and best-known murals

Another major attraction of San Francisco city is its murals. I absolutely loved the MaestraPeace Mural. It serves as a visual testament to the courageous contributions of women through time and around the world.

Bonus

This travelogue would remain incomplete if I don’t mention a bit more about our tour guide Aaron – a friendly and happy guy. He made us laugh and made us feel absolutely comfortable during the trip. He gave us information, told us stories about the city and clicked many precious pictures of us which we will cherish forever.

Travel Realizations

The E-tuk tour through the streets of effervescent San Francisco will remain etched in our hearts forever. It is hard to explain the thrill of zigzagging Lombard Street in an E-tuk, smelling the freshly made Pizzas from the restaurants in Little Italy, and soaking in a completely different feel in China Town. Many moons back, when I saw Hitchcock’s The Birds, I wanted to see and feel San Francisco city. Dylan’s E-tuk tour made my dream a reality.

  1. Beautiful views I’ve only been to the US once and we were staying in LA. Always wanted to come back and see this part of California tho

  2. This e-tuk tour sounds so cool! I have to add this to my bucket list!

  3. The e-tuk experience sounds so cool, but I did know about the mural, they are one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Surely putting this on my To-Do list in SF
