Washed in refreshing greens, the morning arrived. I greeted the morning with smiles and eyes full of gratitude. And then without wasting much of my time, I dressed up and rushed out of my room to relish every bit of the morning glory. I saw tendrils of mist were streaming over the Great Smoky Mountains afar under a cobalt sky. The moment aroused a whole orchestra of emotions in me. So I decided to spend some time contemplating with a cup of coffee at McKinley Edwards Inn in Bryson City, my refuge at the time.

Stealing time away!
One important reality of our existence now is our work and it is insidious to some extent. Increasingly our work defines the purpose of our being. While I oppose this ruthless reality but at the same time, I understand that there is hardly a way out. So, whenever I get a chance I love stealing some time away just for me and my contemplation. A fulfilling activity that fuels my creative spirit; my inner being.

The chorus of the birds drifted in!
Just when I was completely immersed in my thoughts, the chorus of the birds drifted in. And I got aware of a smell that I never smelled before. Suddenly my outer senses triumphed over my thoughts. I heard a melodious bird song and closed my eyes to freeze it in my memory. I opened my eyes and wanted to locate the bird but in vain. The bird remained unknown but the sound of her song is indelible.

A Coffee cup and contemplation – my favorite luxury!
My coffee cup stories are the reflection of many unguarded moments that I get to enjoy during my travels. This time when I stayed in Bryson City, nestled in the lap of the Great Smoky Mountains, my morning time with a coffee cup remained my cherished luxury. After finishing a cup of coffee I used to go for a walk to feel the beating heart of glorious mornings. One needs to stay here to experience. Book your stay at McKinley Edwards Inn.

Into the wilderness!
When my mind became empty of all mundane thoughts after the morning walk, I started for the wilderness; the untamed nature preserved to nurture our souls.
Hours slide by like minutes. The accumulated clutter of day-to-day existence — the lapses of conscience, the unpaid bills, the bungled opportunities, the dust under the couch, the inescapable prison of your genes — all of it is temporarily forgotten, crowded from your thoughts by an overpowering clarity of purpose and by the seriousness of the task at hand.
